ONWARD - Of Epoch and Inferno CD

New album by the well-respected US power metal combo. Michael Grant's abscense is palpable, although I do give props to Robert Van War (ex-ATTIKA) for not trying to emulate Grant and standing on his own. And Toby Knapp's songwriting and shredding is out of this world! This guy is a f'n beast, man! The production is not great, and took me a while to get used to the vocals buried too deep in the mix, but music and shred-wise this is untoachable - the best shred this side of CACOPHONY. Sorry Yngwie, Toby owns you. With proper production this album would be HUGE! Regardless, get it and worship at the altar of insane shredding God Toby Knapp is!
